- API request metadata (timestamps, endpoint, response codes)

Knowledge base content data
Neural Knowledge Base is a knowledge base plugin. Knowledge base articles on websites that use Neural Knowledge Base may include any content the site owner chooses to publish, including:
- Article titles, body content, and headings
- Categories and tags
- Article feedback data (Helpful / Not Helpful votes)
- Search queries entered by visitors
For the free plugin, knowledge base articles, feedback data, and search analytics are stored on the website owner’s WordPress database and remain under the site owner’s control.
For Pro features and AI processing, selected article content may be sent to the Neural Knowledge Base AI service for processing (see Section 3).
AI processing data
If AI features are enabled, the following data may be sent to our AI processing service:
- Article text content (for AI drafting, TL;DR summaries, readability analysis, auto-tagging, and any future AI-related features)
- Article headings and structure (the schema)
- Business context configured by the site owner (such as site profile data)
- AI prompts entered by administrators (for article drafting)
- Generated AI output (article drafts, TL;DR summaries, tag suggestions, readability scores, chatbot responses)
- Visitor search queries (for semantic search processing)
- Visitor chatbot conversations (for AI Chatbot Widget responses)
We do not send the following to AI processing:
- WordPress admin credentials or passwords
- IP addresses (unless explicitly required for abuse prevention, which is logged separately)
- Personal information about the site owner that is not part of the knowledge base content
Chatbot conversation data
When visitors use the AI Chatbot Widget on a site owner’s knowledge base:
- Conversation messages are processed in real-time to generate responses
- No conversation data is stored on the site owner’s server
- Conversations are ephemeral and not retained after the session ends
- Visitors can run multiple conversations, switch between them, and delete their chat history at any time
Security and abuse logs
To protect our service, we maintain limited security logs:
- Request ID
- Site or account identifier
- Safety category (if a request is flagged)
- Timestamp
- Feature used
- Redacted content preview (first 100 characters, used only for abuse review)
- Content hash (SHA-256 of full request)
- Hashed IP address or hashed user-agent (for rate limiting)
These logs are kept for 90 days unless required longer for security, legal, or abuse investigation purposes.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide and maintain our products and services (legal basis: contract)
- Process payments and manage subscriptions (legal basis: contract)
- Deliver plugin updates (legal basis: contract)
- Provide AI features when enabled by the user, including article drafting, TL;DR summaries, semantic search, chatbot responses, readability analysis, auto-tagging, and any future AI-related features (legal basis: contract)
- Detect spam, abuse, and fraud (legal basis: legitimate interest, legal obligation)
- Improve product performance and reliability (legal basis: legitimate interest)
- Provide customer support (legal basis: contract)
- Send important product and account notifications (legal basis: contract, legitimate interest)
- Send marketing emails, only with consent or as permitted by law (legal basis: consent, legitimate interest)
- Comply with legal obligations (legal basis: legal obligation)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not sell or share knowledge base content data for advertising.
4. Automated decision-making and AI
Neural Knowledge Base uses AI processing for the following purposes when enabled by the site owner:
- Article drafting (generating full article drafts from topic descriptions)
- TL;DR summary generation (automatic plain-language article summaries)
- Semantic search (understanding visitor search queries by meaning, not just keywords)
- AI Chatbot Widget responses (answering visitor questions based on knowledge base content)
- Readability analysis (scoring article readability and suggesting improvements)
- Smart auto-tagging (suggesting relevant tags for articles)
- AI version history (storing and comparing AI-generated drafts)
These AI features produce suggestions, drafts, and responses for the site owner and their visitors. They do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about individuals automatically. The site owner retains full control over what content to publish and what action to take based on AI output.
The AI Chatbot Widget provides answers to visitor questions grounded entirely in the site owner’s published knowledge base content. It does not access the open internet or external data sources.
If you have questions about how AI processes your search query or chatbot conversation as a visitor on a site that uses Neural Knowledge Base, contact the site owner directly. They are the data controller for their knowledge base and visitor interactions.
